Hannover Messe 2014

At the 2014 Hannover Messe Fraunhofer ESK has introduced a solution for a seamless connection of electric vehicles to the power grid. As part of the both FP7 funded projects MOBINCITY and SMARTV2G initiated by the EU, Fraunhofer ESK engineers specified and implemented the required communication interfaces. At the Fraunhofer Energy Alliance booth, the researchers have demonstrated how the charging station operates as an active node to communicate with the e-vehicle and the smart grid backend using the ISO/IEC 15118 and IEC 61850 standards. To help developers test whether their systems and products are standards compliant, the institute also implemented the vehicle, charging station and smart grid backend as test objects in the form of software.

MOBINCITY - Smart mobility in smart city
